We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Firmware Test Engineering Co-op to join our team at Emerson. As a Firmware Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our firmware products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Implementation: Collaborate with the firmware team to interpret upstream requirements and design, document, and implement supporting validations.
  • Project and Product Documentation: Perform project and product documentation in accordance with departmental and company procedures and standards.
  • Collaboration and Delivery: Collaborate with other members of the project team to deliver features that are implemented, tested, and documented.
  • Test Fixture Design and Maintenance: Design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
  • Major: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems. Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills. Programming experience in C#, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Test Methods: Knowledge of common software test methods.
  • Continuous Integration: Familiarity with continuous integration tools (TeamCity, Jenkins).
  • Distributed Version Control: Experience with distributed version control.
  • ARM Embedded Processor Platforms: Experience with ARM embedded processor platforms.
  • Commitment to Co-op Experience: Commitment to full-time (40 hour) co-op experience.
