We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineering Team Lead to join our Transportation division at Primera Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our structural engineering efforts and managing both projects and people.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: You will be responsible for designing bridge, culvert, and retaining wall structures, as well as performing field investigations through the application of standard structural engineering practices and techniques for private and public projects.
- Team Leadership: You will lead and manage a team of structural engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Business Development: You will be responsible for building positive relationships with clients and marketing Primera's services to existing and potential clients.
- Project Coordination: You will connect and collaborate with coworkers, vendors, and clients, and maintain project documentation such as calculations and project filing.
- Knowledge Sharing: You will foster an environment of knowledge sharing and technical expertise, helping to mentor and train your team while continuing to grow yourself.
- Education: You must have a bachelor's degree in structural/civil engineering and be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois.
- Experience: You must have at least 10 years of experience in the transportation market, with knowledge of relevant codes and standards (AASHTO, IDOT, ISTHA, AREMA) and key structural elements such as bridges superstructure and substructure, retaining walls, beams, columns/piers, connection and foundation systems.
- Skills: You must be proficient with business and engineering applications, including Microsoft Office, Microstation, and/or AutoCAD, and have experience with GeoPak/Open Bridge Modeler and/or Civil 3D.
- Leadership: You must have strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with your team and connect with people.
