- Adjust the schedule and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity, patient population, resources, and care design.
- Provide supervision of staff, clinical support, and assume management responsibility for the unit in the absence of the nurse manager/clinical care leader.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care plans and make adjustments as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; must be obtained within 2 years of hire into the position.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
- Minimum 18-24 months of experience in a clinical nursing role.
- Knowledge of clinical, psychological, and pathophysiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment.
- Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures, standards, systems, and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
