Monroe County seeks a skilled Permit Technician I to assist with all aspects of permitting, including reviewing applications, routing plans for review, issuance, and inspections. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related work experience.
Key Responsibilities- Process permits from acceptance through plan review, issuance, and closure.
- Collect and record monies received for permitting, impact, and miscellaneous fees.
- Issue Certificates of Compliance (CCs).
- Assist Senior Coordinator with coordination of Plans Examiners on Code Compliance issues related to permitting.
- Provide permitting information and assistance to the general public.
- Perform permitting records research as required.
- Generate cash receipt reports.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-year minimum of prior related work experience.
- Ability to work from provided guidelines for assignments but determine the approach for doing the work.
- Knowledge of clerical or trades-based tasks.
- Ability to work in a responsive environment where co-workers or citizens submit problems for resolution.
- Ability to determine problems and create an individual solution for issues.
- Ability to work with more than ten coworkers who mostly engage in the same activities.
The work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, and stable work environment.
