As a Patient Care Technician at Deaconess, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. Under the supervision of the RN, you will perform various care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of our patients.
You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care. This includes assisting with basic life support principles, communicating with the RN about patient findings, and demonstrating leadership through coordination of unit equipment and activities.
Unit DescriptionThe Surgical Medical Care Center (SMCC) is a 43-private bed plus suite unit that provides care for surgical/medical patients. Our team is dedicated to providing quality care and patient safety, and we are recognized for our teamwork and dedication to excellence.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, including trauma patients, post-operative patients, and patients with genito-urinary procedures. You will also have the chance to work with our nursing staff to provide complex wound management and other specialized care.
Requirements- Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire
- Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center/unit
