Senior SAP ABAP Software Engineer

Position Overview:

This pivotal role as a Senior Software Engineer focuses on the design and development of applications within Finance technology platforms, emphasizing SAP integrations across the broader financial ecosystem.

The responsibilities of this position include the development of software solutions for:

  • Payroll Management
  • Procurement Processes
  • Asset Management
  • General Ledger Accounting
  • Lease Management
  • HANA Sidecar Integration
  • SAP Business Warehouse Solutions
  • Various third-party applications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and validate high-performance, scalable software solutions focusing on SAP S/4 integrations between internal and external systems.
  • Oversee technical coding modifications, ensuring compliance with client standards and optimal performance for large-scale ERP systems.
  • Provide insights on technical decisions for complex development scenarios that necessitate transformation from existing processes.
  • Translate business requirements into integration design specifications.
  • Comprehend interdependencies of development changes and communicate impacts effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Manage the requirements process, ensuring traceability of high-level requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in data analysis activities as required.
  • Supervise vendor resource delivery, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and functional outcomes.
  • Foster open communication across all levels to achieve transparency regarding program goals, progress, and challenges.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment, encouraging constructive discussions and maintaining transparency.
  • Document and understand complex integration workflows involving numerous systems globally.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in overseeing and validating vendor contributions to SAP applications.
  • Strong grasp of data governance and messaging platforms, including cloud technologies.
  • Proficient in SAP ECC and SAP IDOCs.
  • Experience with Web Service integrations.
  • Ability to create and modify SAP jobs (SM37).
  • Familiarity with large data ERPs and the performance implications of coding.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 is advantageous.
  • Proficient in ABAP programming language on HANA is a plus.
  • Experience with Fiori and SAP Enterprise Portal is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of SAP BW and SAP BCS is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in data projects utilizing Agile, Iterative, and/or Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  • Proficient in extracting and documenting data and analytic requirements, collaborating with users from senior executives to analysts.
