Position Overview

The Resident Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents through the development and execution of enriching programs. This full-time position focuses on addressing the physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs of residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement innovative programs that foster cognitive, physical, social, and spiritual well-being.
  • Lead and facilitate engaging recreational activities for both small and large groups, as well as individualized sessions to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Organize and coordinate resident outings and special events to promote community involvement.
  • Develop intergenerational programs that connect residents with younger generations.
  • Create and distribute a monthly calendar of life enrichment activities.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment for each resident upon their arrival to tailor programs to their needs.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with the Resident Council to gather feedback and ideas.
  • Enhance the community atmosphere by decorating for holidays and special events.
  • Plan and host community gatherings for residents and their families, collaborating with various departments.
  • Recruit and manage a team of community volunteers to assist with life enrichment initiatives.
  • Manage the budget for life enrichment supplies and ensure timely ordering.
  • Inspire and motivate staff through effective leadership and mentorship.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED; a degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a senior living or long-term care environment, along with supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company-specific software.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, and sit frequently.
