Territory Sales Consultant

Objective:
Collaborate with designated clients to guarantee they receive the appropriate products at optimal times and placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure products that align with customer requirements.
  • Ensure effective presentation of merchandise in stores.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with clients.
  • Engage in daily travel to various customer sites.
  • Arrive punctually at client locations on designated routes for service.
  • Rotate inventory and remove expired products.
  • Handle merchandise returns and process credits in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized display of UNFI products.
  • Notify customers regarding product deliveries and updates.
  • Assist in setting up shelf tags and promotional materials as well as resets.
  • Promote and sell assigned promotional and sales initiatives.
  • Adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, as applicable to the location.
  • Follow up on customer product inquiries.
  • Keep management updated on regional activities and any significant issues.
  • Participate in meetings as required.
  • Provide support for other field sales representatives when necessary.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:

Certification:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license is essential.
  • Auto insurance must meet UNFI standards.

Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Experience with system implementation is advantageous.
Skills:

Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Capability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

Abilities:

  • Daily travel is necessary, and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Ability to enter and exit a vehicle multiple times throughout the day.
  • Drive safely to and from accounts in various conditions, including urban, rural, and highway settings.
  • Ability to set up displays, fixtures, shelving, and products.
  • Tolerance for exposure to store and warehouse environments, including temperature variations, dust, and dirt.
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
