Job Title: Birth Doula

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Birth Doula to join our team. As a Birth Doula, you will provide emotional, physical, and educational support to expectant mothers and their families throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey.

Job Summary:

The Birth Doula will work closely with our Maternity Support Services team to provide comprehensive care to our patients. This includes providing education and assistance throughout pregnancy, supporting clients during labor, and visiting during the postpartum period. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional, physical, and educational support to expectant mothers and their families throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
  • Work closely with our Maternity Support Services team to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
  • Provide education and assistance throughout pregnancy, including prenatal meetings and postpartum visits.
  • Support clients during labor and provide physical and emotional support during childbirth.
  • Visit clients during the postpartum period to provide ongoing support and care.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of service.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED or agree to obtain prior to using the education award.
  • Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and have good judgment.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Have reliable transportation.
