Job SummaryThe Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of endoscopic procedures at Central Peninsula Hospital. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the endoscopy room and equipment for procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
- Assist nurses and physicians during procedures, providing support and troubleshooting as needed.
- Responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of the endoscopy room and equipment after procedures.
- Collect and handle specimens, performing safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
- Perform job competencies under the SPD technician job description.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Attend educational training programs as assigned during the initial employment process.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- BLSP (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification from the IAHCSMM within 2 years of employment.
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification from the IAHCSMM within 18 months of employment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently and in a team setting.
- 1 year of Endoscopy Technician experience or 1 year of sterile processing experience.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and basic knowledge of asepsis and universal precautions.
- Experience with robotics.
Central Peninsula Hospital offers competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance, retirement, paid time off, and more. Starting pay is $22.26/hr - $25.44/hr depending on experience, with additional compensation available for qualifying night and weekend shifts.
