Job Summary

The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of endoscopic procedures at Central Peninsula Hospital. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the endoscopy room and equipment for procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
  • Assist nurses and physicians during procedures, providing support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of the endoscopy room and equipment after procedures.
  • Collect and handle specimens, performing safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
  • Perform job competencies under the SPD technician job description.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Attend educational training programs as assigned during the initial employment process.
  • 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • BLSP (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification from the IAHCSMM within 2 years of employment.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification from the IAHCSMM within 18 months of employment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently and in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of Endoscopy Technician experience or 1 year of sterile processing experience.
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and basic knowledge of asepsis and universal precautions.
  • Experience with robotics.
Compensation and Benefits

Central Peninsula Hospital offers competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance, retirement, paid time off, and more. Starting pay is $22.26/hr - $25.44/hr depending on experience, with additional compensation available for qualifying night and weekend shifts.
