Role Summary:

Under minimal oversight, the individual is tasked with executing field service operations for subsea apparatus in alignment with design specifications and operational protocols, as well as client expectations. This role involves intricate mechanical assembly tasks, often requiring precision, based on both written and verbal directives. The technician utilizes hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments while assessing service job prerequisites and coordinating necessary equipment for designated assignments. This position may also necessitate travel to install and/or maintain subsea apparatus in various global locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a culture of safety and adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulations
  • Stay updated on current safety standards
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of TEI tools and equipment
  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills regarding TEI apparatus
  • Construct, assemble, and evaluate subsea tooling/equipment according to established procedures and quality benchmarks
  • Complete and maintain all offshore training requirements (including fire safety, helicopter safety, general safety, etc.) for various regions
  • Supervise the installation of diverse equipment offshore
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, fittings, and equipment utilized in the assembly and testing of subsea apparatus
  • Analyze and interpret data during and post-service activities
  • Encourage collaboration and actively contribute to fulfilling client service needs
  • Make informed equipment repair decisions as necessary, both onshore and offshore
  • Travel to and conduct service operations at remote locations, both onshore and offshore
  • Travel offshore to oversee and/or install subsea equipment as required
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Integration Testing (SIT) on subsea apparatus
  • Inspect components for damage and document traceability on work orders
  • Ensure accurate documentation of each procedural step undertaken
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety standards
  • Possess troubleshooting skills for equipment malfunctions
  • Extensive ability to read and interpret drawings/schematics/procedures, including making revisions and submitting Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Skillfully assemble TEI equipment from specific drawings and quality specifications
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and machinery within the TEI facility
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of structural bolted connections
  • Safely operate overhead cranes
  • Exhibit thorough understanding of loading/offloading and rigging associated with heavy equipment handling
  • Assist in the operation of TEI or client equipment as needed
  • Accurately navigate and complete TEI routing paperwork
  • Proactively identify, report, and rectify procedural discrepancies, ensuring follow-through for resolution
  • Complete necessary test documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering on any assembly and/or testing procedures requiring modifications
  • Engage with third-party inspectors and clients regarding their products
  • Undergo comprehensive safety training
  • Promote teamwork and actively support client requirements
  • Lead work crews in servicing client or TEI equipment
  • Encourage a safety-first mindset when leading a team or project
  • Provide daily updates and progress reports to management
  • Lead FAT or SIT testing on client or TEI equipment
  • Familiarize oneself with Company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
  • Share knowledge and best practices across the organization
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in the oil and gas sector
  • At least 3 years of experience in the assembly and testing of oilfield or comparable products
  • Thorough practical knowledge of hydraulic systems operating at pressures up to 15,000 psi, including pressure testing, hydraulic flushing, cleanliness testing, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, including manufacturing, general arrangement, and hydraulic flow diagrams
  • Solid mechanical understanding, including threads, limits, fits, measurement units, basic mathematics, and material properties
  • Strong knowledge of subsea systems and equipment, with an understanding of related subsea apparatus (e.g., trees, chokes, templates, and manifolds)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated decision-making abilities, initiative, and assertiveness, along with effective planning skills
  • Capability to safely operate overhead cranes and/or jib cranes
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely
