We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Safety Operations Manager to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across various field operations and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain safety and health procedures and practices in compliance with corporate, state, federal, and local regulations and contract requirements.
- Promote the implementation of occupational safety programs, procedures, and activities to ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Manage safety audit programs for field and construction locations to ensure compliance with various contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Participate in site-level integration to address safety, quality, health, and welfare concerns, including environmental issues.
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on safety and health-related contract requirements.
- Coordinate field investigations for incidents, property damage, and vehicle incidents to ensure thorough investigations and root cause identification.
- Conduct special evaluations and internal safety and health field surveys/audits, compiling reports and findings for review and making corrective action recommendations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
- Completed 30-hour OSHA general industry class.
- Certification as a practitioner from a nationally accredited certification body, such as the Board Certified Safety Professionals or American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- Pass a pre-employment government background check and drug screen.
- Obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and facility credentials/authorization.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
