Job Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:
  • Implement therapy procedures and care plans under the supervision of a licensed therapist, adhering to established standards.
  • Oversee support staff to ensure effective patient care.
  • Handle administrative tasks that support patient services and departmental operations.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of supplies and ensure proper equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Develop individualized treatment schedules to optimize staff and equipment utilization for high-quality patient services.
  • Administer treatments in accordance with each patient's personalized care plan.
  • Monitor and assess patient responses to therapy, identifying any changes and communicating relevant information to the appropriate team members.
  • Educate and train patients and their families on essential aspects of care.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure comprehensive follow-up care post-discharge.
  • Work with management to create a professional development plan.
  • Participate in educational in-services and professional activities to stay updated on current trends and practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and daily charge records for services provided.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols in daily operations, including proper cleaning and sterilization practices.
  • Conduct in-service training and serve as a clinical instructor for students.
  • Attend team meetings as necessary and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must:
  • Have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Hold a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Georgia.
  • Possess at least one year of experience in a physical therapy setting.
  • Have Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as per American Heart Association standards.
