CASAC Case Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled CASAC Case Manager to join our team in the NYC area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing treatment and counseling services to promote rehabilitation and client interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counseling and Treatment Planning: Counsel clients, write treatment plans, assess client progress, and recommend needed services such as HIV and vocational counseling referrals and parenting classes.
  • Stress Management and Life Skills: Teach clients how to manage stress and circumstances affecting their lives.
  • Case Management: Manage legal reports, court letters, EAP, and/or educational assistance.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation: Collaborate with Vocational staff to integrate vocational rehabilitation into the overall treatment process.
  • Consultations and Assessments: Recommend clients for consultations as appropriate (i.e. psychological or psychiatric). Participate in assessing clients in weekly staff meetings and in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Assist other clinical staff by providing information necessary to assess clients and collaborate on treatment planning.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Obtain data as directed by the supervisor.
  • Professional Development: Complete in-service and other training. Participate in all meetings as directed by supervisor.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Fill in for other Counselors who may be on leave as needed.
  • Residential Program Responsibilities: Conduct room inspections to assure cleanliness and adherence to program rules and regulations in Residential programs.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements:

  • CASAC certification.
  • 3 years of related experience with the substance use disorder population.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment including detoxification and withdrawal symptoms.
  • Multi-cultural sensitivity to the needs of clients in treatment.
  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Uni/Care.
  • Familiarity with the Therapeutic Crisis process.
