What are we seeking in our Software Developer?
Job Title: Software Developer
A Software Developer plays a crucial role in overseeing and/or contributing to the intricate design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of both new and existing software applications.
This position also encompasses planning, installing, configuring, testing, implementing, and managing a systems environment that aligns with the IT architecture and business requirements of the organization.
Employment Type: Contract/Remote
Compensation: $45- $50/hr, based on experience
Working Hours: 20-30 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- The Software Developer is tasked with analyzing and refining system requirements, transforming these requirements into application prototypes, planning and designing system architecture, and writing, debugging, and maintaining code.
- Collaborating with clients to test applications, ensuring the quality and functionality of software and systems.
- Integrating hardware and software components, as well as documenting programs effectively.
- Assessing new software technologies and ensuring the strict application of information security policies and practices in the delivery of software services.
- In the realm of operating systems, the Software Developer will analyze system requirements in relation to business needs, risks, and costs, while also evaluating and validating the systems software environment.
- Integrating hardware and software components within the systems environment and monitoring performance for optimization.
- Evaluating emerging systems engineering technologies and their impact on the operating environment, ensuring that information security principles are embedded in the operational framework.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.
- At least four (4) years of that experience should have been in a leadership role.
- A Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. (Additional relevant experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis).
- Proficient in Drupal development with experience in Acquia Cloud.
Preferred Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in Drupal support and maintenance, including core and security updates, contributed module updates, and third-party plug-in updates.
- General development or site enhancement services, including UI development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, etc.).
- Content modifications, bug fixes, site optimizations, general SEO services, QA, cross-browser testing, and performance optimization.
- Providing advice on CMS usage, conducting code reviews, QA/testing, and site audits.
