Video Journalist

Job Summary:

The Video Journalist is responsible for capturing high-quality video and audio content for news reports. This role requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as proficiency with video recording equipment and computers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
• Shoot video for news reports.
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics, and shot requirements.
• Set up, compose, and execute video shots.
• Maintain video equipment.
• Edit video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content.
• Operate live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

• High school diploma.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years' experience operating video recording equipment.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
• Proficiency with video recording equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Compensation:

• Compensation range from $19.23/hr + commensurate with experience and skill level.
