Job Summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team in MedSurg- Ortho Surgical. This part-time day shift position offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, focusing on promoting a positive patient experience and partnering with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Assist with daily living activities, comfort measures, and additional advanced skills as required by the unit, such as phlebotomy, EKG, and removal of foley catheters.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, family, and visitors, using AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, Thank you) and safety communication techniques.
  • Document patient care in the Electronic Medical Record and communicate patient care concerns or emergencies to the RN or Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
  • Participate in hourly patient rounding, resolve patient concerns, and offer assistance and comfort measures to patients and families.
  • Support initiatives of the healthcare team, participate in unit performance improvement initiatives, and practice accountability.
Requirements
  • Rising Senior in Good Standing or GED
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Preferred: Certified Nurse Assistant or Patient Care Tech Program graduation
