Nighttime Clinical Faculty Position

Position Overview
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Facility Capacity: 39 hospitalist beds
The institution operates a closed ICU with a dedicated ICU team available during nighttime hours.
The physician will oversee all admitted medical-surgical hospitalist patients during the night, which entails the following responsibilities:
- Emergency Response: Manage and respond to any Rapid Responses or Codes, collaborating with the ICU team and Emergency Department physician, who will also participate in code situations. The ICU team will assume patient care post-code.
- Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients and formulate suitable care plans for any acute incidents or changes in patient condition.
- Nursing Coordination: Work closely with nursing staff, addressing inquiries and concerns as they arise.
- Shift Handover: Provide a comprehensive hand-off/sign-out to the daytime team at the end of the shift.
- Patient Transfers: Identify patients needing transfer to a tertiary facility and liaise with the appropriate lines to facilitate this process.
- Procedural Skills: While procedures are generally not required, possessing the ability to perform them is advantageous, with access to other specialties for procedural support.
