Role Overview: The School Teacher is responsible for implementing daily instructional plans effectively. This role requires maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and fostering positive relationships with students while ensuring proper classroom management. Collaboration with building administrators and fellow educators is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
- Create and implement instructional plans aligned with district curriculum.
- Maintain a classroom atmosphere that promotes learning.
- Establish reasonable rules that encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
- Guide the learning process towards achieving school curriculum goals.
- Utilize various instructional techniques and media.
- Familiarize oneself with and adhere to policies established by the Board of Education.
- Develop and implement response to intervention programs as necessary.
- Ensure the safety of students, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain required records in accordance with laws and district policies.
- Assist administration in enforcing policies governing student conduct.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Communicate high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
- Participate in staff and IEP meetings as requested.
- Meet professional behavior standards.
- Administer assessments as directed by administration.
- Communicate effectively with parents as needed.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction as outlined in daily plans.
- Maintain a professional rapport with parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Supervise classroom students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
- Teacher license/certification as required by state or district.
- Preferred: One year of teaching experience.
- Ability to accept responsibility for the safety and well-being of others.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively.
- Basic mathematical competency.
- Compliance with professional standards of practice.
- Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Current CPR certification if applicable.
- Health certificate as required by state regulations.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
