Role Overview: The School Teacher is responsible for implementing daily instructional plans effectively. This role requires maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and fostering positive relationships with students while ensuring proper classroom management. Collaboration with building administrators and fellow educators is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
  • Create and implement instructional plans aligned with district curriculum.
  • Maintain a classroom atmosphere that promotes learning.
  • Establish reasonable rules that encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
  • Guide the learning process towards achieving school curriculum goals.
  • Utilize various instructional techniques and media.
  • Familiarize oneself with and adhere to policies established by the Board of Education.
  • Develop and implement response to intervention programs as necessary.
  • Ensure the safety of students, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain required records in accordance with laws and district policies.
  • Assist administration in enforcing policies governing student conduct.
  • Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Communicate high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
  • Participate in staff and IEP meetings as requested.
  • Meet professional behavior standards.
  • Administer assessments as directed by administration.
  • Communicate effectively with parents as needed.
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction as outlined in daily plans.
  • Maintain a professional rapport with parents, colleagues, and administration.
  • Supervise classroom students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
  • Teacher license/certification as required by state or district.
  • Preferred: One year of teaching experience.
  • Ability to accept responsibility for the safety and well-being of others.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively.
  • Basic mathematical competency.
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • Health certificate as required by state regulations.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
