Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Criminal Justice and Criminology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Criminal Justice and Criminology to join our faculty at Appalachian State University.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of courses in Criminal Justice and Criminology, including introductory and advanced courses, as well as online and face-to-face instruction.
- Develop and maintain a research agenda that contributes to the field of Criminal Justice and Criminology.
- Advise and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Ph.D. in Criminal Justice/Criminology or a related discipline at the time of appointment.
- ABDs will be considered, but must provide evidence of successful dissertation defense by July 31 for a fall hire or November 30 for a spring hire.
- Experience with Corrections and Institutional Corrections is highly desirable.
- Postdoctoral research experience or teaching experience in a higher education setting.
- Experience with curriculum development and program assessment.
- Strong research and teaching skills, with a focus on student-centered learning and pedagogy.
