About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Stationary Engineer Trainee to join our team at the University of Georgia's Facilities Management Division. As a key member of our Central Steam Plant team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high-pressure boilers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of a journey worker to gain experience and knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials related to boilers and steam production.
  • Assist in the operation of high-pressure boilers, adjusting campus load as necessary, and maintaining accurate records and logs relative to CSP SOPs and state/fed regulations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians to make repairs to boiler/auxiliary equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies, read instruments, and maintain accurate records and interpret data.
  • Basic math skills, familiarity with basic hand tools, and ability to make basic repairs when necessary.
  • Ability to understand and comply with moderately complex oral and written instruction.
