Key Responsibilities- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately plan and execute pipefitting installations.
- Install pipes, fittings, valves, and other components according to industry best practices and project requirements.
- Utilize hand and power tools proficiently to prepare pipes for installation and ensure precise alignment.
- Conduct thorough inspections to guarantee the integrity and functionality of all installed piping systems.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in pipefitting is highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a pipefitter within a shipyard or marine setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of pipes and piping systems used in ship construction and repair.
- Mastery of hand and power tools, including saws, grinders, and drills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively troubleshoot issues.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to precision work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
