Key Responsibilities:- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining positive relations with patients during invasive procedures.
- Specimen Collection: Accurately interpret physician orders to collect high-quality specimens.
- Procedure Performance: Perform invasive procedures, including venipuncture, micro-capillary collections, and central line draws, by following exact protocols and procedures.
- Specimen Handling: Handle specimens, including selection of the appropriate specimen type to ensure high-quality, reliable test results.
- Certifications and Licensures: Fingerprinting, Valid Driver's License required, and completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of multiple functions in the Laboratory Information System (LIS), Hospital Information System (HIS), and reference lab computers.
- Infection Prevention and Control: Demonstrate competency in infection prevention and control practices and policies.
- Hand Hygiene and PPE: Follow hand hygiene policies and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
