Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Student Health Services. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric services to students of San Diego State University upon referral from providers at Student Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Student Ability and Success Center. These services positively impact and support student well-being and academic success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities

* Provide psychiatric services to students of San Diego State University upon referral from providers at Student Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Student Ability and Success Center.
* Work collaboratively with other Student Health Center staff to provide comprehensive care to students.
* Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and treatment plans.

Requirements

* Graduation from a medical school and completion of one or more residency programs and/or fellowships accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent in a specialty appropriate to their assigned specialty duties.
* A valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
* Current board certification in an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) specialty or subspecialty appropriate for their assigned specialty duties.
* A valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration and number for prescribing controlled substances.
* Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification as appropriate for the assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications

* One or more years of post-residency psychiatric clinical experience in a college health service or with adolescent or young adult age groups.
* Experience working on a multidisciplinary team.
