Job Summary:

The Salvation Army Tucson is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our properties, including the chapel, social services office, offices, hallways, dining room, kitchen, meeting rooms, and bathrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain floors, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and waxing
  • Clean and maintain surfaces, including dusting, disinfecting, and wiping down surfaces
  • Maintain trash and recycling, including emptying receptacles and breaking down boxes
  • Clean and maintain bathrooms
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in custodial work preferred
  • Ability to understand and comply with The Salvation Army's mission, philosophy, and practices
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strict adherence to client confidentiality policies
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time well
  • Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass a TSA background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. repetitively
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
