The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team in the Sleep Lab. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing and evaluating overnight polysomnograms on pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and prepare patients for sleep studies, ensuring accurate and safe data collection.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated medical equipment, including polysomnographs and other sleep-related devices.
- Analyze and interpret sleep study data, identifying normal and abnormal patterns, and documenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in sleep medicine and polysomnography, participating in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as sleep science, neuroscience, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist or in a related field.
- Licensed Polysomnographic Technologist by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week, with rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and ability to multitask.
