Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Machinist to join our salvage department. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in restoring engine components to usable condition using Bridgeport machining equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Operate Bridgeport milling machine to salvage and repair engine components according to machined parts for accuracy and conformance to quality standards.
  • Machine components to required tolerances and specifications using proper gauging and measurement tools.
  • Identify and implement salvage techniques to produce a conforming product.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Bridgeport machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and implement solutions for machining challenges to maximize component reusability.
  • Report to department supervisor and initiate action to prevent occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system.
  • Operate stationary or moving overhead hoists, Bridgeport, lathe and various hand tools.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety protocols.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED is required along with a mechanical aptitude.
  • A Machining degree or 2 year minimum Machining experience required.
  • Experience operating Bridgeport machine is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to diagnose and problem solve in various situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring tools and technical student graduates were encouraged to apply.
Work Environment

The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles.
