Job Title:

Physician Assistant - Primary Care Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Brooklyn Heights. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting, working closely with our supervising physician to coordinate and deliver high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, including medical histories, physical exams, and ECGs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and diagnose and manage patient conditions under the delegated autonomy of the supervising physician.
  • Assist the physician in surgeries and/or procedures, as needed.
  • Obtain initial histories, perform physical examinations, and document clinical findings in patient medical records.
  • Provide health education counseling to patients and families, answering questions about disease and treatment plans.
  • Respond to patient phone calls, answer questions, and refer questions to the physician as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain a clinical and research database, assisting the physician with the coordination of clinical trials.
  • Prescreen and triage new patients prior to scheduling appointments, collecting relevant medical materials and summarizing clinical information.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited program.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Approximately 2 years of work experience in a clinical setting highly desired.
  • Prior experience with coordinating clinical protocols desired.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • A team-oriented individual that works collaboratively to achieve team goals.
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant License & Registration.
  • Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants, Inc (NCCPA).
  • BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS or PALS (if applicable).
