Position Summary

This position involves accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for assigned patients. As part of the clinical team, the Registered Nurse engages in decision-making and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee patient care delivered by support staff during assigned shifts, identifying changes in patients' physiological conditions.
  • Communicate patient status effectively to multidisciplinary team members.
  • Engage directly with patients and their families regarding nursing care.
  • Provide clinical interventions tailored to meet patient needs.
  • Document the nursing process thoroughly.
  • Integrate information from various sources to implement appropriate action plans for safe, quality care.
  • Ensure the safety and security of patients, their families, and staff.
Clinical Duties:
  • Exhibit clinical competence in all patient care activities.
  • Deliver direct patient care as required.
  • Supervise patient care provided by support personnel during specific shifts.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of assigned patients and their families, addressing biopsychosocial and learning needs.
  • Contribute to the care plan in collaboration with the patient care coordinator as necessary.
  • Implement appropriate actions to respond to the needs of patients and their families.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to therapeutic interventions and progress toward outcomes.
  • Utilize resources efficiently in patient care, including equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards of care in all practice areas.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligibility in the State of Illinois.
