Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative - Family Practice to join our team at PeaceHealth. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification, as well as acting as a clinical liaison with physician practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-register and register patients with accurate demographic and financial data
  • Collect patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payment types
  • Verify coverage and ensure all insurance requirements are met, including obtaining prior authorization and referrals as necessary
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service
  • Assist with departmental coverage as needed and manage daily appointment schedules
  • May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment
  • Work with the healthcare team to obtain VA/Tricare or State of Alaska Medicaid authorization for medical care and/or travel
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical office or related customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred)
  • Strong background in customer service and ability to manage conflict effectively
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good customer service skills and interpersonal skills
