Job Overview

As a pivotal member of our operations team, the Machine Operator V will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and effectively troubleshoot issues utilizing diagnostic tools such as Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 and Siemens S7.
  • Enhance maintenance processes and machinery by analyzing industry best practices to refine manufacturing techniques, tooling, and equipment.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of preventive and scheduled maintenance activities, including the development and reassessment of maintenance plans.
  • Conduct preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum availability and reliability of machinery and equipment.
  • Utilize technical schematics and documentation for diagnosing and repairing electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Program motor drivers and similar control systems to optimize performance.
  • Provide technical support to production staff in setting, adjusting, or repairing machinery.
  • Modify machine parameters and settings to enhance production efficiency.
  • Mentor and support less experienced maintenance technicians in their development.
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of assigned equipment, adhering to safety protocols and standards.
  • Perform various tasks based on facility requirements while complying with all environmental health and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned work areas, following all safety procedures.
  • Develop one-point lessons and conduct root cause analysis to resolve technical issues while offering expertise to the team.
  • Coordinate schedules for preventive maintenance and other maintenance projects.
  • Support fellow technicians in daily operational tasks.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to meet all maintenance objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED, completion of Vocational Maintenance Technician Training (Electrics/Mechanics/Robots/PLC or similar), and an associate's degree in Industrial Mechanics/Electrics or a related field with relevant maintenance training.

Required Experience: A minimum of 4 years in Industrial Maintenance, along with PLC programming and troubleshooting certification.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Expertise in Hydraulics and Industrial Pneumatic Circuits.
  • High-level knowledge of Electrical systems.
  • Fundamental skills in PLC Programming and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to utilize and interpret basic measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Familiarity with Robot programming and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Hydraulic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical (440V) three-phase systems, including controls troubleshooting.
