Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

The English Department is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Lecturer in English Literature (tenure-track). The selected individual will be responsible for delivering 27 credit hours of educational instruction in English each academic year.

The Lecturer will primarily engage in teaching writing and literature courses across day, evening, and online formats; maintain designated office hours, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to the governance of the college at various levels; and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the department head.

Required Qualifications

Educational Background

A Ph.D. in English is mandatory.

The ideal candidate should be
a versatile educator with contemporary expertise in one or more of the following fields:
American Literature, creative writing, screenwriting, Gender Studies.

Prior experience in teaching English at the higher education level is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication abilities, and the capacity to instruct at the learning support level.

A demonstrated understanding of instructional technology and assessment methodologies in composition is required.

The candidate must exhibit the ability to teach effectively using diverse instructional strategies, connect with a wide range of students, and promote student engagement and learning.

COMPENSATION: Salary and rank will be aligned with qualifications and experience.
