We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team at Airgas. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and selling medical, industrial, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and hard goods and tools to customers.
Key Responsibilities- Sales and Customer Service: Solicit sales from walk-in and telephone call-in customers, assist customers with identification of product needs, and locate merchandise.
- Administrative Tasks: Accurately complete and file all required paperwork on a timely basis, document sales, quotes, or other information, and enter sales and quote data into the computer.
- Warehouse Support: Provide support for shipping and receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labeling, or other tasks as needed.
- Inventory Management: Restock store merchandise as needed, arrange stock on shelves or racks in the sales area, and keep merchandise in order.
- Safety Procedures: Follow all safety procedures, use established safety procedures for cylinder handling during exchanges and storage of cylinders, and maintain showroom cleanliness.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse, and/or sales-related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Skills: Strong background in gas, welding, and safety supply industry with retail experience preferred, SAP experience strongly preferred, prior welding experience preferred, and intermediate knowledge of Google Suite applications.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines, and demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees.
