Geotechnical Director

Job Title: Director of Geotechnical Engineering

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

Key Qualifications:

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Experience in North and/or Central Texas
• Background in TxDOT geotechnical projects is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 5 years of geotechnical group management experience
• Ability to engage in relevant dialogue with clients
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
• Leadership skills to coach and mentor junior professional staff
• Ability to organize logically and manage time effectively
• Proactive approach to seeking new challenges

Essential Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will possess proven group management skills (minimum 5 years). This position will be based in our Dallas-Fort Worth location.
• Manage a team of Geotechnical PEs and EITs on various projects.
• Identify business development opportunities
• Prepare engineering reports providing practical geotechnical solutions
• Develop and manage projects (scope, schedule, budget)
• Perform and review engineering calculations, such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seepage
• Conduct geotechnical field investigations
• Other duties as required

• Ability to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.)
• Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods
• Ability to work overtime as needed
