Description
We are currently fully staffed; however, we welcome applications to keep on file for future openings.
The Lead Lifeguard and Aquatic Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting the team and patrons within the aquatic facility, ensuring the enforcement of safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure environment. This role also includes acting as the facility supervisor in the absence of the Aquatic Program Director.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to all essential functions associated with both lifeguard and instructor roles.
2. Mentor junior lifeguards and instructors.
3. Report any incidents involving staff to the Director.
4. Consistently enforce rules and regulations to ensure safe and effective programs.
5. Secure the facility appropriately at closing time.
6. Complete necessary documentation for shift details.
7. Participate in and assist with staff meetings and training sessions.
8. Address any issues or concerns that arise during shifts.
9. Document and report issues to the Aquatics Program Director.
10. Follow the guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Perform other duties as assigned related to job functions.
Qualifications:
1. Current certification in Lifeguarding from a recognized association.
2. Current certification in First Aid and CPR from a recognized association.
3. Current certification as an ARC Water Safety Instructor.
4. Lifeguard Training Instructor certification.
5. Possess supervisory skills.
6. Availability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
7. Ability to respond to emergencies in a professional manner.
8. Strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional (1-33%) bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, squatting, reaching, and stair climbing to perform essential job functions.
Lifting: 0-10 pounds constantly; 10-25 pounds frequently; over 50 pounds occasionally.
