The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients in the Emergency Room, utilizing the Nursing Process in compliance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Ensure safe and effective delivery of care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Critical Thinking: Apply scientific judgment and leadership skills in planning and anticipating patient needs.
- Clinical Competence: Maintain and enhance clinical skills through ongoing education.
- Delegation: Assign patient care tasks based on staff qualifications and experience.
- Supervision: Oversee and guide assigned personnel in patient care delivery.
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma required.
- Prior travel nursing experience is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department is mandatory.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
- Flexibility to rotate to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit as needed.
- Ability to care for patients with COVID-19.
- Willingness to float to other areas as necessary.
- Experience with Epic software is required.
- Shift: 3 PM to 3 AM, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Block scheduling is not an option.
- This is a Nicotine-Free Facility.
- Candidates with a history of license suspension will not be considered.
- All time-off requests must be submitted with the application.
- Previous permanent hires at any WellSpan site within the last year are ineligible.
- Flu vaccination is required during the flu season.
