We are recruiting for a Certified Nursing Assistant CNA to join our team at Southwood Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies.

New Higher Wage Rates Available

This is a PRN position with various shifts available, including day and evening hours.

The successful candidate will provide routine nursing and personal care for residents, ensuring high-quality resident care at all times. As part of our team, you will work effectively with colleagues to ensure that work is accomplished and quality care is delivered.

About the Role

  • Participate in and receive resident reports at the start/end of shifts.
  • Provide personal/nursing care in accordance with resident care plans.
  • Facilitate and conduct activities that enhance the lives of our residents.
  • Maintain a clean and pleasant environment for residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Assist in preparing residents for various activities within and outside the center.
  • Ensure that all resident care is provided in a respectful and compassionate manner.
  • Perform basic nursing care procedures as required, prioritizing resident needs.
  • Create a safe and comfortable environment for residents, meeting their physical and emotional needs.
  • Ensure timely food service delivery, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident activities, restorative programs, and specific forms.
  • Adhere to established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and respect.
  • Attend scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or requested by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent qualification.
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment.
  • Familiarity with resident care procedures and standards, demonstrating a commitment to quality care.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, exercising sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Compassionate and enthusiastic personality, with patience, tact, and enthusiasm.
  • Willingness to work harmoniously with colleagues, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Able to relate information concerning a resident's condition, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
