Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Communications Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electronic communications equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Installs, maintains, and repairs two-way radio communications equipment, including mobile and base station radios, repeaters, and control consoles.
Performs routine maintenance, modifications, and troubleshooting of electronic equipment, including analog and digital systems.
Coordinates the planning and preparation of communications equipment and networks.
Develops and implements maintenance and testing procedures for new and complex communications equipment.
Provides technical assistance and training to other technicians and staff members.

Requirements:

Five years of experience in programming, maintaining, and repairing two-way radio communications and electronic equipment.
Graduation from an accredited two-year college with a major in electronic technology or graduation from an accredited military, vocational, or technical school of electronics preferred.
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

Working Conditions:

This position requires extensive travel and the ability to work in a variety of environments, including office and outdoor settings. The selected candidate must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and work at heights.
