Location: Madras, OR (must reside within a reasonable commuting distance)

Work Schedule:
Generally Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 4:30 PM

Salary:
$26 - $32 per hour based on experience and qualifications

Travel Requirements: Mainly local travel, with potential for occasional travel to other locations for support

Job Responsibilities:


The Aerospace Maintenance Specialist operates under the close supervision of a licensed A&P mechanic, performing essential aircraft troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance while prioritizing safety and quality at all times.

You will have the opportunity to pursue your A&P license as part of your professional growth.
Under the guidance of a licensed A&P Mechanic, you will:

  • Conduct effective troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs in compliance with relevant regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company protocols to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent aircraft maintenance records.
  • Interpret and analyze maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to assess the feasibility and methods for repairing or replacing defective components.
  • Utilize all necessary tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Exhibit reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Adhere to all company policies and standards of conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Mechanically inclined, currently enrolled in an aircraft maintenance program, or possess military experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Willingness to test for the A&P license exam when eligible.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Service-oriented mindset with the ability to foster productive professional relationships.
  • Possession of adequate tools to perform job functions.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Working Environment:

  • Work involves proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Work is typically performed in an indoor hangar or outdoors, subject to various weather conditions.
  • Noise levels may range from moderate to loud.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds independently and up to 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires the capacity to read, hear, speak, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Accurate hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Finger dexterity and hand strength are required, with the ability to grasp, lift, push, and pull.
  • Specific vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional climbing on ladders may be necessary.
  • Ability to wear and utilize personal protective equipment is required.
