Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM) has been helping families achieve their greatest potential since 1970 by providing early childhood education, foster care & adoption, child welfare, mental & behavioral health, community and economic development, housing, community school services, and violence intervention services to the North Philadelphia communities.

We are looking for a qualified and passionate individual to join our team as an Educational Support Staff. This is a full-time position that requires assisting with the implementation of our early childhood developmentally educational program.

The successful candidate will work closely with the teacher to develop activities that promote learning and socialization among children. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a classroom setting, preferably with preschool populations and working families.

Salary: $32,624 per year (based on a 40-hour workweek and assuming a 52-week work schedule)

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the teacher, parents, and other volunteers to prepare and implement daily activities in the classroom
  • Develop and assist in implementing culturally relevant education programs and group socialization activities
  • Assist the teacher in reviewing and completing child developmental assessments
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Support the creation of a welcoming atmosphere for parents, children, and staff in the classroom
  • Uphold confidentiality in matters related to families and children
  • Assist in record-keeping and administrative tasks
Requirements
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or 3 Early Childhood Education credits
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a classroom in the field of early care and education, preferably with preschool populations and working families
  • Knowledge of or experience working with at-risk children
  • Bilingual, bicultural, in the Latino culture preferred
