Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Safety and Health Specialist to join our team at Leidos. This role will provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety programs to mitigate risks to employees, including fall protection, electrical safety, and hazardous materials.
  • Conduct complex technical hazard assessments to identify and evaluate health hazards, such as asbestos exposures and mold growth.
  • Perform workplace environmental/safety inspections and develop abatement plans to control identified hazards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in identifying and evaluating personal protective equipment needs.
  • Develop safety training programs to address identified needs.
  • Review project designs to identify safety concerns and develop scopes of work for contract resources.
  • Develop new occupational safety and health programs, policies, and procedures to address compliance and certification issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, or a Master's degree with at least 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass FAA security screening.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for collaboration, teamwork, and risk management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form to individuals at different organizational levels.
  • Strong writing, time-management, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA experience or military aviation background highly desired.
  • Prior safety consulting experience for FAA or other Federal agencies.
  • Board of Certified Safety Professionals certification, such as CSP, ASP, OHST, or CHST.
