Hennepin County Medical Center is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join our Jail Health Services team. As a casual nurse, you will provide medical care to inmates in the Hennepin County Jail.
Responsibilities:- Provide medical care to inmates, including initial screenings, health assessments, and treatment of medical conditions
- Triage patients and refer them to appropriate levels of care
- Document interventions and individualized plans of care
- Educate patients on their disease process and promote preventative care
- Partner with patients, their families, and significant others to provide comprehensive care
- 1 year of corrections RN work experience in Hennepin County Sheriff's Office
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
Casual nurses must make themselves available to work a minimum of two (2) open 8-hour shifts or the equivalent number of hours per four (4)-week scheduling period at straight time. They must also make themselves available to work two (2) of the following holiday shifts per calendar year: New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
