Job Summary

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 in Malta, NY is seeking an experienced professional to support the semiconductor manufacturing and development process. The successful candidate will drive a proactive safety culture through continuous improvement opportunities, own Environmental Health, Safety, and Security programs, collaborate with key stakeholders, and assist with EHS&S trainings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and facilitate a strong safety culture within the site
  • Assist with managing the development and implementation of site-specific safety procedures and programs
  • Work with site groups and management to ensure timely and complete root cause investigations of all safety incidents
  • Participate as a site Module EHS&S Representative
  • Work with teams on hazard identification, evaluation, control, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Participate in pre-job walks with a safety focus
  • Review pre-task safety plans and associated high-hazard permits
  • Assist with new equipment and tool reviews and sign-offs
  • Educate site personnel and contractors on safety requirements and standards
  • Provide coaching and professional development to all employees to maintain safety excellence
  • Review safety data and analyze for trends, developing action plans with site personnel
  • Participate and lead portions of EHS self-assessment and/or audits
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to site personnel
  • Participate on and support the site Emergency Response Team and provide rotating site emergency coverage
  • Assist with the preparation for, completion, and coordination of site audits
  • Support the site Industrial Hygiene Program, including updating site Qualitative Exposure Assessments and other Monitoring Plans
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or Health training, or equivalent military experience
  • Minimum of 7-9 years of relevant experience within Manufacturing or Construction safety-related fields
  • Physical Capacity Demands: ability to work and support the site Emergency Response team, including use of an SCBA and level A/B hazmat equipment
  • ASP/CSP, CHST, OSHA 500 preferred
  • Strong communicator, organized, and analytical
Technical Knowledge
  • Thorough working understanding of OSHA Standards and Regulations (1910/1926)
  • Prior semiconductor experience a plus
  • Prior construction safety experience a plus
