Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Master Mechanic to join our team at Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. as a Mechanical Team Lead in Modesto, CA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our rental equipment fleet.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with teammates, customers, and store associates through verbal and written interactions.
  • Provide expert knowledge on equipment operation and standard procedures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support rental centers by explaining equipment programs and addressing store-specific issues.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Equipment Repairs:
  • Manage and maintain a large fleet of rental equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on complex equipment components, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Utilize company technology to document work performed and track inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts usage and inventories.

Compliance and Travel:
  • Deploy new equipment to store locations and provide training to store associates on its operation.
  • Travel occasionally (less than 15% of the time) to support various tasks and initiatives.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school education preferred.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to diagnose and complete advanced mechanical repairs.
  • Working knowledge of handheld technology.
  • Experience in repair and maintenance of gas/diesel engines and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Collaboration and cross-functional team work experience.
  • Able to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Technical or trade school education.
