Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team at Kyocera International. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for leading optical, electrical, and other materials characterization work on semiconductor materials and devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments to characterize semiconductor materials and devices
  • Develop and implement new methods for crystal growth and materials processing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and improve engineering and production manufacturing capability
  • Interface with customers and partners to develop new semiconductor-related applications
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics or a related field, or B.S./M.S. plus at least 5 years of research experience
  • 2+ years' experience and expertise in characterization of semiconductor-related materials, optics, and/or device physics
  • 2+ years' experience working with semiconductor applications preferred
  • Experience with simple coding (e.g., Python, C++, VBA, etc.) desirable
  • ITAR eligibility is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4-year degree plus PhD in Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years' of related professional experience
