We are seeking a highly skilled EMS Educator to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As an EMS Educator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality education and training for our EMS providers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for EMS providers, including classroom and lab instruction.
- Assist the EMS Administrator/System Coordinator with special projects and initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with current EMS Act and IDPH Rules & Regulations, as well as National EMS Education Guidelines, CoAEMSP, CAAHEP, and National Registry standards.
- Coordinate communications between the Resource Hospital and EMS System providers.
- Submit requests for approval of educational materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Monitor student and EMS Provider evaluations and report findings to the EMS Administrator/System Coordinator.
- Update preceptors with the latest information on curriculum, science guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in IDPH-EMS Administrative reviews and assist in submitting written plans of corrective action if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, EMS/Trauma Staff, pre-hospital providers, students, and staff of other hospital units.
- Attend EMS System, Regional, and State meetings as assigned by the EMS Administrator/System Coordinator.
- Act as a liaison between EMS Providers and the EMS Office for the EMS course.
- Assist in performance improvement projects for EMS, including case reviews at the direction of the EMS Administrator/System Coordinator.
- Organize activities of EMS personnel within the hospital and educate hospital staff and EMS personnel regarding emergency services.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in EMS education and training, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
