The Ladders is in search of a Senior Accountant to enhance our Finance team. We are seeking an individual who is proactive and self-motivated, capable of working autonomously to meet both personal and team objectives. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization's accounting methodologies, facilitating financial reporting and strategic planning, as well as managing interactions with financial institutions and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations and manage the month-end closing procedures, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Prepare various journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, prepaids, depreciation, and reclassifications, while maintaining reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly internal financial reports.
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions through customer and vendor reporting and analysis.
- Assist in payroll processing and reporting activities.
- Compile ad hoc financial reports and analyze data to extract valuable insights.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate interim and year-end financial statement audits.
- Assist external tax advisors with financial and accounting inquiries.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments, providing financial insights that drive operational success.
- Support accounting processes to enhance internal controls, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Assist with the transition to an ERP system and become a subject matter expert in its functionalities.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional accounting experience; CPA designation is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting practices and a solid understanding of GAAP.
- Exceptional internal customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- A genuine desire for success, complemented by a robust work ethic, integrity, and sound judgment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
