Recreation Competency Coordinator

Glenhaven Academy is seeking a Recreation Competency Coordinator to join our team. As a Recreation Competency Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing recreational and competency life skill-based activities for our adolescent students.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience working with adolescents, and a passion for helping others. If you are a team player who is enthusiastic about working with students, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recreational and competency life skill-based activities for students
- Work with students to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, and vocational skills
- Develop community connections through volunteering, art classes, and athletics
- Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and role modeling effective coping strategies

Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Mental Health setting experience strongly preferred
- Must have strong communication skills with clients' teams both internally and externally
- Must have strong organizational skills and experience with managing monthly/weekly scheduling of activities
- Activity planning and community outreach experience preferred
- Maintains valid driver's license as transporting students is required
- Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required
- At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students
- Background and driving record checks will be performed
