Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health, behavior, and needs to appropriate supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate records of clients' medication schedules.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Accompany clients to appointments and other outings, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up.
- Implement individualized care plans as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting their mental and social well-being.
- Assist clients with mobility, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers, or transferring from bed to chair.
- Facilitate recreational activities and social interactions according to clients' interests and abilities.
- Respect clients' privacy and confidentiality in all aspects of care.
- Record and maintain accurate client care documentation and progress notes.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related role.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of basic health care procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Basic computer literacy to document care in electronic health records.
