Job Summary:

A Bartender at The Patio Restaurant and Lounge is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences through friendly, prompt, and attentive service tailored to each customer's preferences. This role requires a strong knowledge of our menu and the ability to craft each drink to perfection while serving customers responsibly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcoming customers, determining beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders;
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers;
• Checking identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol and ensuring that customers are not over-served;
• Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the bar and tables are properly stocked;
• Adhering to all food and drink safety and quality regulations;
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, returning correct change to patrons, and balancing the cash register;
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age;
• Valid BASSET card and Food Handler's Certification as required by IL Food Safety Regulations;
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written);
• Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance;
• Strong task and time management abilities;
• Ability to quickly and efficiently prepare complicated cocktail recipes;
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques;
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Bartending experience;
• Knowledge of mixology techniques and ingredients;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work as part of a team.
